Welcome from Mrs Brader and Mrs Parish. Mrs Bowmar will be joining us for her final teaching placement. She will be with us for seven weeks and will be sharing the teaching of 4C with Mrs Brader.


We have had an amazing three days at Dearne Valley, Doncaster. We participated in many activities such as: high ropes; outdoor climbing; fencing; scrapheap challenge; campfire; problem solving and river investigation.


In our English we will be learning about using narrative and focusing on using grammar. If your child enjoys any particular stories please encourage them to read at home! We will also be covering non-fiction and poetry.


In Topic this term we will continue our learning about Ancient Greeks. We will be learning facts and looking at how they lived. We will also be organising a timeline of various events that happened during the Greek period.


Our Maths learning this term will involve; number and place value, measurement, addition and subtraction, money, time and fractions. We will be starting with number. If you can practice any real life examples of this please do!


Art this term will involve lots of exploration. We will be looking at first hand observation and creating patterns using printing. If you can practice any printing at home please bring it in to share!


In Computing we will begin to look at Coding and how to use Scratch. We will be begin to create basic animations.


Our Geography this term will be looking at Ancient Greece. We will be learning about both Ancient and modern Greece.


In Music we will be creating call and response songs using our auditory memory.


Our PSHE topic this term is ‘Relationships’. We will also be focusing on how to establish friendships with others and be good members of our community.


Our RE this term will be focused on Christianity. We will learn about beliefs and values and ask questions about Christianity.


In Spanish this term we will be learning about different Spanish phrases. We will learn how to start conversations and answer questions.

Water Bottles

Children are permitted to bring in a named water bottle which they will be allowed to access during learning time. There will also be cups available for those children who do not have water bottles.

Please note, only water can be drank during the school day. Fruit juice or flavoured squash are only allowed at dinner time. Water bottles should be taken home and washed each night.

If your child wears earrings please ensure they can either remove them independently or that they do not wear them to school on PE days. This term our PE is on a Thursday.
