The School Day

Session Times

Seathorne has both a morning and afternoon session with a lunch break around mid-day.

Arriving at school

We run the Breakfast Club every morning from 8am to 8.50am.

There is a £1 charge for this additional service.

Teachers are on duty from 8:45.

We kindly ask that children do not arrive any earlier as our staff are not able to take responsibility for them prior to this time.

The teacher on duty will blow the whistle at 8.50 am so that lessons can start promptly.

After this, children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 should be escorted by their Parents/Carers to their classroom door where the teacher will be waiting to greet them. This is an ideal opportunity to pass on any brief messages to the staff.

Children in Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 will be able to make their way into school through the KS2 door. The teacher of duty will be able to pass on any brief messages to class teachers.

Break times

KS1 and KS2 have separate mid-morning breaks of 15 minutes. To avoid accidents, the time is varied so that the younger children are not out at the same time as the older classes.

During these morning breaks, KS1 are provided with a piece of fruit.

The children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have a mid-afternoon break for 10 minutes.

Food and drink

Lunch

Hot school lunches are provided by First College and the cost is £2.20 per day.

The menus are sent out every two weeks and should be returned by the Tuesday lunchtime of the week after you have received them.

All monies should be placed in an envelope with your child’s name on, class and amount (cheques must be made payable to Lincolnshire County Council). If you have any queries regarding your child’s lunch, please contact Mrs Smith in the school office.

More information on lunches at Seathorne (including Free School Meals) can be found on our Lunches page.

Water

Drinking plenty of water helps children perform better at school. Water is available to all children in the school via drinking fountains and cups.

We also ask for all children to bring a water bottle from home that can be stored in classrooms and keep them hydrated during their learning time. This bottle must only contain water and not squash. However, it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure the children’s bottles are taken home and cleaned on a regular basis. Water bottles are also available for purchase for £1 from the school office.

End of the school day

If Parents/Carers are unable to collect their children at 3:20 pm, then places can be booked at our Adventurers After School Club.

Adventurers After School Club

The Adventurers After School Club runs from 3.20pm to 5.30pm each school day.  The charge of £3.00 per child covers the adult supervision and a snack.  A registration form (collect from the school office) needs completing before your child can join this club.
