The School Day

Session Times

Seathorne operates on a traditional two session day divided by a mid-day lunch break.

Arriving at school

We run the Breakfast Club every morning from 8am to 8.50am.There is a £1 charge for this additional service.

Teachers are on duty from 8:45. We would appreciate it if children did not arrive any earlier as we are not able to take responsibility for them prior to this time.

The teacher on duty will blow the whistle at 8.50 am so that lessons can start promptly.

Children in Reception and Year 1 should be escorted by their Parents/Carers to their classroom door where the teacher will be waiting to greet them after the whistle has been blown. (This is an ideal opportunity to pass on any brief messages to the staff).

Break times

Each of the departments has a separate mid-morning break of 15 minutes. To avoid accidents, the time is varied so that the younger children are not out at the same time as the older classes.

During these morning breaks KS1 are provided with a piece of fruit.

The children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 have a mid-afternoon break for 10 minutes.

Food and drink

Hot school lunches are provided by First College and the cost is £2.20 per day.

The menus are sent out every two weeks and should be returned by the Wednesday lunchtime of the week after you have received them.

All monies should be placed in an envelope with your child’s name on, class and amount (cheques must be made payable to Lincolnshire County Council). If you have any queries regarding your child’s lunch please contact Mrs Darlington in the school office.

More information on lunches at Seathorne (including Free School Meals) can be found on our Lunches page.

Drinking plenty of water helps children perform better at school. Water is available to all children in the school via drinking fountains and cups.

If you wish, your child can also bring a water bottle from home that can be refilled at school. This bottle must only contain water and not squash. However it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure the children’s bottles are taken home and cleaned on a regular basis. Water bottles are also available for purchase for £1 from the school office.

End of the school day

Any children that have not been collected by 3:40pm are then put into the Adventurers After School Club and are charged a £3 per child club fee.
