Because of the number of pupils at Seathorne we have two dinner sittings. The younger children eat first as it has been a long time since breakfast for them. They then have time to play before the beginning of the afternoon session. The sitting for the older children begins mid-way through the break.
Lunch is usually taken in the dining room. However, when the weather is nice children have the option of an informal ‘picnic’ outside. This is something they very much enjoy.
Hot school lunches are provided by First College and the cost is £2.20 per day.
The menus are sent out every two weeks and should be returned by the Wednesday lunchtime the following week after you have received them.
All monies should be placed in an envelope with your child’s name on, class and amount and given to the school office. If you have any queries regarding your child’s lunch please speak to Mrs Darlington in the school office.
Alternatively children may bring a packed lunch, but please do not include glass containers, fizzy drinks or knives. We recommend that your child brings a healthy balanced lunch containing some fruit based items if possible.
All children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Universal Free School Meal (UFSM). However, if you have a child or children in full-time education (Reception, Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6), receive certain benefits and have an income of less than £16,190 you may be able to claim Free School Meals (FSM).
If you think you are entitled to FSM please ask for a form at the School Office.
More information can be found on the Lincolnshire County Council website.
You can apply for milk via the Cool Milk website or collect a leaflet from the school office. Cool Milk is free to children under 5 years old.
